On October 9 2018, Co-op Tohoku Sunnet Business Federation released the application "Easy Brain Training" for users of "Co-op Tablet". This application consists of several mini-games expected to activate users' brain, such as simple math puzzles.

On September 20, 2018, a 7-member delegation of the European Parliament Committee on International Trade (INTA) paid a courtesy visit to JCCU to hold talks with HONDA Eiichi, President, together with ITO Jiro, Operating Officer/Director, Public Relations Division and FUTAMURA Chikako, Director, Member Relations Division on the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

From September 2018, the 3 member Co-ops of Co-opdeli Consumers' Co-operative Union namely, Ibaraki Co-op, Tochigi Co-op, and Co-op Gunma entered into electricity retailing business.

Miyagi Co-op participates in hydrogen energy utilization demonstration experiment project

The Low Carbon Hydrogen Technology Demonstration in Cooperation with Local Government is a public tender by the Ministry of the Environment to demonstrate a low carbon hydrogen supply chain as a mid- to long-term global warming countermeasure. Tomiya City in Miyagi Prefecture jointly with Miyagi Co-op, Hitachi, LTD., and Marubeni Corporation received the consignment in August 2017.

2018 Peace Action in Hiroshima and Nagasaki

At the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, "Peace Action 2018 Hiroshima" and "Peace Action Nagasaki" was held, attended by 2,300 participants including staff and members of 70 consumer co-ops, and 1,110 participants including staff and members of 50 consumer co-ops respectively.
