As part of its efforts to reduce the amount of plastics used for CO-OP Brand products, the Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union (JCCU) will change the material of the outer packaging of 15 products in the CO-OP Makeup Series from plastic to paper one by one, starting from September 2023.

On October 3, 2023, the first commendation ceremony of Fairtrade Japan Award was held in Tokyo. JCCU received the Silver Prize in the sales category (excluding coffee) of the awards, which honor companies and organizations that have made outstanding achievements in Fairtrade promotion in Japan.
