Food Drive Activity Conducted

2026.03.11

JCCU carried out a "Food Drive" initiative from January 19 to 30, 2026, at its offices in Shibuya and Shinjuku Wards in Tokyo, and in Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture. This marked the second consecutive year of the initiative.
A food drive is part of broader food bank efforts, encouraging people to donate surplus, unopened food items from their homes to support individuals and families in need, welfare organizations, and children's cafeterias (kodomo shokudo) within the community.
This year's initiative was conducted in cooperation with Food Bank Shibuya, a certified non-profit organization working to address local social issues in Shibuya Ward, where JCCU's headquarters is located.
JCCU staff donated a total of 252 items--including snacks, beverages, and ready to eat foods--amounting to approximately 63 kilograms. The collected food was delivered to Food Bank Shibuya on February 10, and will be distributed through the organization to around 300 households in need.
