A delegation from JCCU participated in a local peace march held in conjunction with the Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), which began on April 27, 2026, in New York City, USA. Together with co-ops across Japan, JCCU dispatched a delegation of 34 members from 27 co-ops and federations for an eight-day visit from April 24 to May 1.

The delegation worked alongside an eight-member group from the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations (Nihon Hidankyo). Nihon Hidankyo is Japan's only nationwide organization formed by survivors of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, and it advocates for the abolition of nuclear weapons and state compensation for survivors. While supporting the on-site activities of the aging hibakusha, the co-op delegation joined them in conveying the horrific realities of the atomic bombings and their strong desire for a world free of nuclear weapons to nations around the world.

On April 26, the delegation participated in a peace march held from the New York Public Library to United Nations Headquarters. Participants in the march voiced their determination that the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki must never be repeated and that no new hibakusha should ever be created. Chanting, "No More Hiroshima, No More Nagasaki, No More Hibakusha," they appealed for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

After the march, the delegation moved to Scandinavia House, where organizations from various countries gathered for reports and panel discussions on the global nuclear situation and efforts toward nuclear abolition. Through these multifaceted discussions, participants strongly emphasized the importance of solidarity and cooperation among organizations working toward the shared goal of eliminating nuclear weapons.
