JCCU adopted a special appeal titled "Our Declaration for Peace 2025" at its 75th Ordinary General Assembly held on June 13, 2025.

80 Years Since the Atomic Bombing and the End of the War
For Peace and a Better Life
This declaration reaffirms the commitment of Japanese co-operatives to build "peace" in their own unique co-operative way, in light of the current circumstances marking 80 years since the atomic bombings and the end of World War II.
The content of the declaration was created based on 371 peace messages submitted by consumer co-op members, officials and staff from across Japan. In drafting the declaration, the goal was to provide opportunities for the recipients of these messages to reflect on peace as a personal matter and engage in discussions, thereby fostering more dialogue about peace.
Building on the adoption of the declaration at the Ordinary General Assembly, JCCU is promoting peace initiatives through the "
#MyDeclarationforPeace Campaign," which encourages people to post and share their wishes for peace. Messages centered around the theme of "peaceful everyday life" also serve as a reaffirmation of the consumer co-ops ideal: "For peace and a better life".
