JCCU Registered as a "Fair Trade Workplace" for Actively Promoting Fairtrade Certified Products

In April 2025, JCCU was registered as a "Fair Trade Workplace" by Fairtrade Label Japan, a specified non-profit organization. The "Fair Trade Workplace Registration System" is a program established by Fairtrade Japan to promote and expand Fairtrade. It recognizes companies and organizations that strive to eliminate poverty and ensure sustainable livelihoods for producers through fairtrade practices.
JCCU has been advancing its initiatives in line with the SDGs and ethical consumption, including the development of CO・OP Brand Fairtrade-certified products. JCCU has also conducted public relations and promotional activities to increase awareness of the Fairtrade system among external audiences.
Following its registration as a "Fair Trade Workplace", JCCU will now strengthen its efforts to raise awareness of Fairtrade-certified products and the Fairtrade system within its own organization.

What is a "Fair Trade Workplace"?
Established by Fairtrade Japan in July 2024, this system registers companies and organizations that consistently use internationally certified fair trade products throughout the year, actively raise awareness of Fairtrade both inside and outside the organization, and contribute to its promotion and expansion.
JCCU's Initiatives Related to the "Fair Trade Workplace"
Fiscal Year 2024:
JCCU widely promoted Fairtrade practices among its staff through workplace learning sessions on fairtrade and by using Fairtrade-certified products as prizes for internal events.
Fiscal Year 2025:
In addition to its FY2024 initiatives, JCCU has begun sharing information about its Fairtrade activities through an exhibition space on the first floor of its headquarters in Shibuya.

CO・OP Brand Fairtrade Certified Products
JCCU began selling CO・OP Brand Fairtrade certified products in 2013. As of 2025, it offers 10 SKUs across three product categories: bananas, coffee, and tea. In FY2024, JCCU's total wholesale sales of Fairtrade -certified products reached 260 million yen.
