On November 9, 2023, the 16th International Cooperative Alliance Asia-Pacific (ICA-AP) Regional Assembly took place in Manila, the Philippines. Three representatives from the Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union (JCCU) attended, namely TSUCHIYA Toshio, President of JCCU, ARAI Chitose, Vice President, and KOGA Makiko, Board Member.
Prior to that, from November 6 to November 8, various ICA-AP Forum together with related meetings took place. These included the Regional Board Meeting, Committee on Women Meeting, Consumer Committee Meeting, Regional Women's Forum, the Collaboration seminar between Consumer Committee and Consumer Co-operative Worldwide, and Cooperative Forum.

During the ICA-AP Cooperative Forum, held under the theme "Cooperatives: Our Common Agenda," participants received updates on cooperative activities and surveys conducted in various countries. The agenda also included the announcement of the winners of the ICA-AP Cooperative Excellence Award. Additionally, a report from the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) highlighted that the UN General Assembly has officially designated 2025 as the "International Year of Cooperatives".
At the Regional Assembly, the 2023 activity report, membership status, and financial reports for 2021 and 2022 were presented. During the activity report session of the General Assembly's sectoral and thematic committees, ARAI Chitose, Chair of the ICA-AP Committee on Women and Vice President of JCCU, and YAMAKOSHI Akihiro, Chair of the ICA-AP Consumer Committee and Manager of International Relations Dept. of JCCU, provided an overview of the committee's activities.
Furthermore, it was announced that the ICA-AP Ministerial Conference is scheduled to take place in Jordan in April 2024, and the upcoming ICA-AP Regional Assembly will be convened in Sri Lanka in 2025.
