JCCU announces progress of DX-CO・OP Project

2023.03.22

JCCU reports on the progress and new measures of the DX-CO-OP project, a cross-sectional initiative of consumer co-ops nationwide.

The DX-CO-OP Project is a four-party, cross-sectional initiative by JCCU, in collaboration with the Co-op Tohoku Sunnet Business Federation (Co-op Tohoku), the Co-opdeli Consumers' Co-operative Union (Co-opdeli), and the Tokai Co-op Business Federation (Tokai Co-op), to realize a new lifestyle for co-op members.
Since April 2021, the three concepts and specific measures formulated to promote this project are being verified by the three federations. Based on the results of these verifications, the measures that would be confirmed to be successful for all consumer co-ops nationwide will gradually be introduced through JCCU.

Examples of Initiatives in FY2022:

Progress of "CO・OP chef" (a web service, which allows users to order ingredients used in recipes)

The " CO・OP chef" web service, which allows users to order ingredients used in recipes by tapping on their favorite recipes, was first launched by Miyagi Co-op. It has now been introduced in 4 business federations of consumer co-ops in 21 prefectures, including Co-op Tohoku, Co-op CS Net, Co-op Hokuriku, and Tokai Co-op. We are currently considering the introduction of the system in other prefectures also.
In the future, we are considering linking with other services such as quick ordering and improving the service by adding a function to show recipes based on products.

"Kondate Assist" (a web service, which automatically creates an up to one-week meal plan)

With one tap, the service automatically creates a meal plan for up to one week, considering family structure, preferences, nutrition, etc., and displays the necessary ingredients, allowing users to place orders for home delivery without any hassle. Co-opdeli is also preparing to introduce this service. While aiming to expand the number of Co-ops that introduce this service, efforts will continue to be made to improve the service to increase the number of users.

Launching a Demonstration Experiment on Digital Tools:
(which helps create new connections)

A demonstration test of the digital tool will be launched in consumer co-ops (Miyagi Co-op, Co-op Mirai and Co-op Gifu). The tool helps creating places for co-op learning and exchanging, improves operational efficiency, expands notification channels, creates connections with people who are unfamiliar with member activities, and establishes a platform for participation.

Regardless of time or place, the digital tool creates a place where people can be planners, organizers, and transmitters, and be connected with each other. It also encourages people who share the same values and common thoughts to be connected and make better changes in their lives and communities. Through the use of the tool, young people and others who have little contact with co-ops will also be connected and create a new dynamic community.

We will continue to verify existing initiatives, promote their introduction, and work on new measures to realize a new way of life for co-op members.
