- Membership of consumer co-ops nationwide: 30.17 million members
- Membership of consumer co-ops nationwide has increased for 13 consecutive years, reaching 30.17 million members, with an increase of 200,000 from the previous year (100.7% year on year).
- Membership of community-based co-ops (*1) increased by 280,000 reaching 23.32 million (101% compared to the previous year), and the household subscription rate (*2) was 39.0% (up 0.3 percentage points from the previous year).
(*1) Community-based co-op: A co-op that provides products and services through home delivery and store business, making the local community a place of economic and social activity.
(*2) Household subscription rate: membership divided by the number of households based on the basic resident register.


- Co-ops nationwide: overall figures show a decrease in sales and an increase in profit
Total business turnover(*3) of community-based consumer co-ops nationwide was 3.76 trillion yen, a decrease of 45.6 billion yen (98.8% year-on-year), while the net surplus(*4) increased to 106.0 billion yen (102.2% compared to the previous year).
(*3) Total business turnover: This is calculated by adding the revenues from insurance, welfare, and other businesses to the revenue from the sales of products.
(*4) Net surplus: Total operating surplus and non-operating profit/loss, equivalent to ordinary income of general business enterprises.

- Community-based consumer co-ops: Home delivery business declined, but still reached the 2 trillion yen level for two consecutive years; Store business also suffered a decline in revenue.
- The total turnover of community-based co-ops was 3,183.2 billion yen (98% compared to the previous year), reaching the 3 trillion yen level for two consecutive years, but a decrease of 58.7 billion yen (98% compared to the previous year), marking the first decline in nine years.
- The total turnover of the home delivery business of community-based consumer co-ops decreased for the first time in 11 years to 2.11 trillion yen (99.1% compared to the previous year), but reaching the 2 trillion yen level for two consecutive years. Out of this total, the turnover of individual home delivery continued to grow to 1.58 trillion yen (100.3% compared to the previous year).
- The total turnover of the store business decreased to 923.7 billion yen (97.3% compared to the previous year). The number of stores was 938, a decrease of 6, year-on-year, and the sales floor area was 1.29 million ㎡ (102.1% compared to the previous year). Seven new stores (8,660 ㎡) were opened and 12 stores (9,063 ㎡) were closed.
