For two days from August 7 to 8, 2022, JCCU jointly held the 2022 Peace Action in Nagasaki with the Nagasaki Consumers' Co-operative Union. Together with the "2022 Peace Action in Hiroshima" held from August 4 to 5, a total of 9,100 people participated.
In light of the COVID-19 infection situation, a special website was set up and the event was held via online video streaming. The "Rainbow Stage in Nagasaki" event had physical participation from within Nagasaki Prefecture.
This year marks the 77th anniversary of the A-bombing and under the theme "A peaceful future without war and nuclear weapons: 77 years since the A-bombing, the spirit of Nagasaki to the future," the event was planned to encourage each individual to take action to exchange and share their thoughts of the A-bombed city of Nagasaki so that the next generation, who will build the future, can live in a peaceful world.

On the afternoon of August 8, the "Rainbow Stage in Nagasaki" was held. Mr. TAUE Tomihisa, Mayor of Nagasaki in his greeting, said, "In these difficult times of global situations, the power of the civil society is important. Taken turns Mr. MATSUI Kazumi, Mayor of Hiroshima also offered greetings and said, "As the situation in Ukraine becomes increasingly tense and there is concern about the risk of nuclear weapons being used, what is important is to promote a culture of peace in which people share a common desire for peace to serve as a driving force for a society free of nuclear weapons."
On behalf of the organizers, TSUCHIYA Toshio, President of JCCU, said, "The value of peace is truly being questioned now. We must not reverse our past efforts to abolish nuclear weapons. Let us take this opportunity to think and discuss together what we can do to realize a world without war and nuclear weapons and pass it on to the next generation."

A total of three section meetings were held through live streaming. This year's events included a "picture-story show of peace," A-bomb testimonies by Hibakusha, and a reading of A-bomb memoirs by the Eien no Kai, a group of reading volunteers dedicated to passing on A-bomb experiences.
In addition, an "Online Children's Peace Conference" was held as an opportunity for children, who bear the future, to think about peace. 59 participants, from elementary school to university students, took part in the conference. Participants learned about peace, war and atomic bombs, and exchanged opinions in groups. Based on the opinions expressed by each group, the participants wrote an appeal letter, in which they stressed the importance of each individual learning about peace and listening to each other's thoughts and summarized their opinion as follows, "In order to make people around the world more aware of the horror of nuclear weapons, messages will continue to be disseminated through SNS and other means" and it was announced at the Rainbow Stage in Nagasaki.
