From October 2021, JCCU launches "CO-OP Smoked Salmon Trout Cut-off" as the first PB product using BAP-certified salmon in Japan* as part of the CO・OP Sustainable Product series. The series uses main ingredients that are friendly to the environment and society. The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification is a certification system for hatcheries, feed mills, aquaculture farms, and processing plants that guarantees environmental and social responsibility, the health of the fish and shellfish being farmed, and food safety at all stages of the production process.

① BAP-certified products
This product is BAP certified in all its hatcheries, feed mills, aquaculture farms, and processing plants. BAP certification is currently spreading mainly in the North American market, and JCCU plans to increase the number of BAP-certified products it handles in the future, with this product being the first BAP-certified CO・OP Brand Product.
② "CO・OP Sustainable" product series
This product is also a part of the "CO・OP Sustainable" product series, under the theme "Protecting ocean resources." The "CO・OP Sustainable" series is a lineup of products that use main ingredients that are friendly to the environment and society, and has been launched in February this year under the three themes "Protecting ocean resources," "Protecting forest resources," and "Organic"." As of October, a total of 84 products have been launched, while the goal is to have approximately 100 products on the market by the end of fiscal 2021.
■JCCU's Ethical Product Initiatives
Based on the "Consumer Co-op 2030 Environmental Sustainability Policy" adopted in June 2018, JCCU is focusing on the development of ethical consumption products that are easy to incorporate into daily life. The sales volume of ethical products grew to 200.9 billion yen** in FY2020, 116% of the previous year's total sales of JCCU's ethical products.
