The 1st Nara Co-op Health Education Class held

On September 29th, the 1st Nara Co-op Health Education Class for  2020 was held with the aim to help co-op members develop an interest in their own health and lead a health-oriented daily life through correct knowledge and information, and exercise. This health class was first started in November 2017 and in this particular class, 117 co-op members participated. As a countermeasure against the COVID-19 infection, the class was organized in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and Nara Prefecture.
In the first class, a lecture was given by Ms. ARIMORI Yuko, the silver medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics women's marathon under the title "Your dream will come true if you keep on thinking". She was born with dislocation of both hips and has handicapped legs. In her lecture, she talked based on her experience of how she grew up to win the silver medal at the Olympics. She further advised the participants to think positively, not negatively during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the second class, light exercises such as sitting stretching and yoga were done while taken precautions to prevent Covid-19 infection. There were comments by the participants such as, "I feel more positive." "I would like to put into practice the story that Ms. ARIMORI gave in her lecture."
