In Tottori Prefecture, elementary schools were temporarily closed in order to combat the new coronavirus infection at the beginning of March 2020. Special after-school children's clubs were opened to keep children whose schools were closed. Some of the clubs offered special service by operating from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm for the children of working parents.

On March 16, the Tottori Prefecture Consumers' Co-operative, which has a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Tottori Prefecture, presented a total of 1.2 million yen worth of confectionery and sanitizing goods to the Tottori Prefecture Child Care Division.

The confectionery includes the Co-op Brand products. 4,189 sweets which are individually wrapped and also allergy-friendly were distributed to 152 clubs upon their request and the remaining 189 clubs which did not provide food for the children were supplied with sanitizing sprays.
Delivery of the items began on March 16 and completed by March 25. The children were pleased with the sudden gift of sweets.

The presentation was covered by seven newspapers and local TV stations.
