"Sapporo Snow Sports Festa 2020" was held in Sapporo, Hokkaido on February 16, 2020. Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union (JCCU), CO-OP Sapporo and Japan CO-OP Insurance Consumers' Cooperative Federation (JCIF) title sponsored the Odori Park Cross-Country Skiing Competition, the main event of the festa. About 6,300 people participated.
This festa not only provided the Odori Park Cross-Country Skiing Competition but also offered several winter sports experiences. It was an event where one can experience the joy of watching and experiencing sports through cross-country skiing and winter sports. Participants enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and cross-country with the previous Olympic and Paralympic athletes. Members of the Para Nordic Ski Japan Team, which JCCU supports by raising funds through the sale of "CO・OP Nutrition Support Cookie", also participated and made the event exciting.

At the cross-country skiing competition event, JCCU, along with JCIF and Coop Sapporo, were the presenters of the awards ceremony in the Para-athlete category. At the festa venue, Co-op Brand Products were distributed including free samples of egg soup, cookie, teas and co-op detergents. In addition, fifteen days before the festa, an exchange meeting was held with the athletes who were registered with JAPAN Para-Ski Federation and participated in the festa, to deepen the understanding of parasports.

At the opening, Mr. AKIMOTO Katsuhiro, Mayor of Sapporo gave an opening greeting on behalf of the organizers followed by greetings from Mr. SUZUKI Naomichi, Governor of Hokkaido Prefecture, Mr. HARADA Masahiko, the 1998 Nagano Olympic Ski Jump Group Gold Medalist, and finally Ms. HASHIMOTO Seiko, Minister of Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games announced the opening of the event.
JCCU will continue to support the success of the "Para-Nordic Skiing Japan Team".
