From March 3 to 11, an exhibition was held for nine days at U-COOP's Harmos Zama store, where U-COOP's disaster prevention and mitigation efforts and the support for the reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake were introduced.
In addition, they held an exhibition of food products and cardboard toilets necessary for evacuation at home which are considered as the effective means of disaster mitigation. The key point of controlling the stock for an emergency is to always store a certain amount of food at home by replenishing a little more than minimum requirements on a regular basis while consuming them in daily life.
" Disaster prevention-related product display "
Nine years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11, 2011. Photo panels of U-COOP's reconstruction support efforts were also displayed to remind members to rethink about the affected areas and raise their awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation.
One of the members said, "Emergency food is being reviewed due to the coronavirus." The exhibition was a good opportunity for co-op members to rethink the importance of disaster prevention and mitigation.
