2019 Typhoon Hagibis Emergency Support Donation presentation ceremony held in Fukushima Prefecture

2020.03.10

We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the victims of Typhoon Hagibis which caused widespread damage in the eastern part of Japan.

Typhoon Hagibis hit Japan in October 2019, causing flooding and catastrophic destruction across much of eastern Japan. Many buildings got flooded and some victims lost their lives. Reconstruction work in the affected areas is still ongoing.

To support the reconstruction of the affected areas, 188 co-ops nationwide worked on fund-raising activities and raised about 670 million yen. Out of this amount, 376.94 million yen comes from the "Typhoon Hagibis Emergency Support Fund" established by JCCU. The fund gave 147.3 million yen to Fukushima Prefecture which was one of the areas seriously devastated by the typhoon.
