2019 Japan Packaging Contest 'Accessible Design Packaging Award'
2019.10.08
At Japan Packaging Contest 2019, the shipping cardboard of CO・OP Brand dressing was awarded the Accessible Design Packaging Award.
The Japan Packaging Contest is held every year by the Japan Packaging Institute and this year is the 41st time. From various perspectives such as design, materials, technology, logistics, etc., the best Japanese packages of the year are selected. The packages winning awards are eligible to the Asiastar Awards sponsored by the Asian Packaging Federation and the Worldstar Awards sponsored by the World Packaging Organization.
The award for “Accessible Design Packaging” was given based on ease of opening, checking the contents, and ease of use. The award was shared by JCCU, Oji Container Co., Ltd. and OJI Industrial Materials Management Co., Ltd.
An example of award-winning product, the shipping cardboard of “CO・OP deep roasted sesame dressing”
The main reasons for winning the award are as follows: 1) Perforation is provided around the side of the corrugated cardboard, and easy to open in about 4 seconds which is about half of the conventional time. 2) The perforation is made to match the cardboard graphic design and can be displayed as it is. 3) In the past, plastic tape was attached to the sides to make it easier to open the cardboard, but with the present design the tape is no longer needed, thus waste and reducing costs reduced. (Oji Container Co., Ltd. has registered utility model for this unsealed shape).
In the same contest last year, CO・OP Brand dressing bottles and caps were awarded the Food Packaging Award, and this is the second time for CO・OP Brand Products to receive the award.
