2019 Cooperative Festa Tokyo

The “2019 Cooperative Festa Tokyo” was held at the Agriculture Promotion Facility JA Tokyo from June 18 to 22, 2019. The event was organized by the “Liaison Council facilitating cooperation between cooperatives in Tokyo” and participated by 13 cooperative organizations including six consumer co-ops namely, the Tokyo Consumers’ Co-operative Union, Co-op Mirai Tokyo Headquarters (Co-opdeli Consumers’ Co-operative Union), Palsystem Tokyo, Touto Co-op, Seikatsu Club Tokyo and Kokumin Kyosai co-op <ZENROSAI> Tokyo Prefectural Office. A total of 4,158 people attended the event.

On the first day, an opening ceremony was held where on behalf of the organizers, Mr. SUDO Masatoshi, Chairman of JA Tokyo Chuokai gave the opening greetings followed by a guest speech by Mr. KATSUMATA Hiromi, Executive Director of Japan Co-operative Alliance (JCA).

The cooperative organizations that took part in the event set up booths to introduce their respective business and activities through panel displays, product tasting and sales. In addition, parent-child mini-events such as lottery and games were held.

A food drive was held during the event and a total of 76 pieces weighing 9989.7g, were donated. The collected food was donated to Food Bank Komae through Touto Co-op.
