On June 20, 2019, a 4-member delegation of The State of Chuuk in The Federated States of Micronesia visited Co-op Mirai Takakura Store to inspect its activities for environmental protection such as reduction of the use of plastic shopping bags. Hachioji city in Tokyo where the Takakura Store is located has been working on garbage problems in The States of Micronesia in cooperation with a university in the city. Takakura Store is known as a shop with high percentage of the customers who do not use plastic shopping bags in the city and by this reputation the city requested Co-op Mirai to accept the delegates to inspect the store.

The delegation first learned about measures Co-op Mirai takes to reduce plastic shopping bags in a lecture, and then took a tour of the store.
