New series of CO・OP Brand Products that respond to food allergy released


On April 1, 2019, JCCU released a new series of CO・OP Brand Products "CO·OP SMILE DISH" that respond to food allergy.


The concept of "CO·OP SMILE DISH" is that "people with or without food allergies can easily enjoy delicious meals and fun together". This is in response to co-op members’ requests, from interviews conducted, that summarizes (1) it’s better that all family members and friends with or without food allergies can enjoy the same food, (2) it’s hard to prepare special menus for families with food allergies.

The 10 products released this time are noodles, pancake mix and retort sauces, etc. Seven raw materials for potential allergen are not used such as egg, milk, wheat, buckwheat, peanuts, shrimp, and crab. In addition, in order to prevent cross-contamination, all the raw materials are confirmed not to include the above seven materials, and each product is made in a special factory or a line that does not use the seven raw materials.

The noodles and pancake mix are made using rice flour as the main ingredient instead of flour. The series include udon (Japanese noodle), Chinese noodle, spaghetti, macaroni, etc. for making diverse recipes. The pancake mix can also be used for cupcakes and doughnuts.

The retort sources neither use the seven raw materials for potential allergen nor animal-derived materials. All of them are versatile ones such as tomato sauce and white sauce.

JCCU released recipes using "CO・OP SMILE DISH" series on the official website of JCCU at the recipe sharing platform Cookpad, in an easy-to-understand manner for co-op members.


Examples of dishes using the released products

JCCU plans to increase the lineup of "CO・OP SMILE DISH" in the future.
