Korea Health & Welfare Social Cooperative Federation visits Japanese Health and Welfare co-ops

The exchange between Japanese Health and Welfare co-ops and the Korea Health & Welfare Social co-ops are actively held.
On June 21 2018, 4 officials from the Korea Health & Welfare Social Cooperative Federation and the National Health Insurance Corporation (Official Medical Insurer in Korea) paid a visit to Japan to learn about the development of community health care business and the health promotion activities by co-op members.

Upon arrival, the officials inspected hospitals and clinics of Medical Consumers’ Co-operative Kanagawa as well as the health promotion activities being conducted by co-op staff and members.

The officials took part in the voluntary health promotion activities by the co-op members and expressed their determination to put in more effort to advance community health activities and disease prevention activities upon returning to Korea.
On September 3, 23 delegates including officials from the member co-ops of Korea Health & Welfare Social Cooperative Federation visited Japan, and as part of their schedule paid a visit to Okinawa Health and Welfare Co-operative and inspected its health care facilities as well as its health promotion activities by co-op members.
The delegates were impressed with the various health promotion activities they observed and expressed their conviction to support the local community development in Korea through the promotion of similar health care activities.
