On February 15, 2018, Mr. HIGASHIHARA Koichiro, President of Fukuoka Prefecture Consumers’ Co-operative Union, YAMAMOTO Katsuya Executive Director of JCCU and others visited Fukuoka Prefectural Government Office and presented a donation of 22.87 million yen from consumer co-ops nationwide to Mr. OGAWA Hiroshi Governor of Fukuoka prefecture. This is an additional donation following the 176 million yen presented on August 31, 2017.

Mr. OGAWA in his thank you message said, “We will continue to make effective use of the funds received for the reconstruction of the lives of each of the victims and infrastructure and further ask for your continuing support in the future”.

The Fukuoka prefecture consumer co-operative union and JCCU reported the voices received from the victims during the support activities, together with the situation of the support activities by consumer co-ops at the disaster areas.

 JCCU and its member co-ops will continue to work on the support activities for the people in the disaster areas.
