Peace Action in Hiroshima and Nagasaki
JCCU and its member co-ops have been organizing activities called "Peace Action" to consider peace from various aspects. As part of the activities, JCCU holds "Peace Action in Hiroshima and Nagasaki" jointly with Hiroshima Consumers' Co-operative Union and Nagasaki Consumers' Co-operative Union in August every year. They held events in 2022 such as an online testimony session to hear testimonies from A-bomb survivors, a reading of poems about A-bomb experiences, and a project to connect Professor WATANAVE Hidenori of the University of Tokyo and students of his Laboratory in New York. A total of 9,100 people participated in the events.
Peace Action in Okinawa
On March 25, 2022, JCCU and Okinawa Consumers' Co-operative Union held the Peace Action in Okinawa - the 39th Okinawa battlefield/base tour and lectures online as an opportunity to learn about the realities of the Battle of Okinawa and the base issues facing Okinawa today and to think about peace. In view of the spread of the COVD-19 infection, this year's event was held online with 539 viewers from 49 consumer co-ops nationwide (viewers on the day of the event only).
Peace activities in New York in conjunction with the NPT Review Conference
In conjunction with the NPT Review Conference, JCCU, along with the Hiroshima Consumers' Co-operative Union and the Nagasaki Consumers' Co-operative Union, sent a co-op delegation team consisting of employees and co-op members from August 2 to 8, 2022 to conduct peace activities.
CO・OP PEACE MAP
Under the slogan "For Peace and Better Life," Japanese consumer co-ops have engaged in a wide range of peace activities such as organizing events where co-op members listen to the testimonies of Hibakusha (atomic bomb sufferers) and people who experienced war and engaging in signature campaigns for the world peace. CO・OP PEACE MAP is a website that introduces such a wide range of co-op peace activities, experiences, and testimonies of Hibakusha as digited data on a digital earth. The data is made by the NPO, "No More Hibakusha Project--Inheriting Memories of the A- and H-Bomb Sufferers."
Ukraine Support Fund ~Donations from consumer co-ops nationwide exceed 880 million yen~
JCCU is pleased to announce that, as of May 16, 2022, a total amount of 880,347,848 yen (according to JCCU) has been raised by the members of 33 consumer co-ops and co-op federations to support Ukraine following the invasion by Russian forces that began on February 24, 2022.

Co-op Oita Supports Ukrainian Refugees
Co-op Oita provides various types of support to refugees from Ukraine who have been evicted from their home country because of the war and living in Beppu and Hita Cities in Oita Prefecture.
