The Proportion of Male Employees Taking Childcare Leave at JCCU Reached 84.2% in 2024
In 2024, 84.2% of male workers at JCCU who became fathers took childcare leave in 2024. When including special leave (up to three days available within one month of a spouse's childbirth), the proportion reached 100%. This improvement is credited to the introduction of the “Paternity Leave at Childbirth" system, implemented after the 2022 legal revision. At JCCU, the period of paternity leave is recognized as part of the employee's length of service. The organization also encourages reuse activities among staff, enabling them to exchange children's items.

Employment of People with Disabilities at Co-op Okinawa
Co-op Okinawa is actively promoting the employment of people with disabilities and has built expertise in areas such as communication, trust-building, and behavioral support. Few retail settings have successfully created inclusive workplaces for people with disabilities, and this initiative has drawn attention from co-op associates nationwide. To strengthen its efforts, Co-op Okinawa established a Type A Continuous Employment Support Office and a special subsidiary. Through this pathway, individuals first receive vocational training at the Type A support office, then gain employment at the subsidiary, and ultimately progress to general employment within Co-op Okinawa.
