Consumer co-ops in Japan are developing sustainable products that consider the environment and society. Here we introduce Palsystem's body soap that takes the future of the planet into consideration.

From September 2021, Palsystem Consumers' Co-operative Union* (Palsystem), in collaboration with TOPPAN INC. and TAIYO YUSHI CORP started selling a body soap that takes the environment and human rights into consideration.

For the packaging, TOPPAN INC. has developed a water-resistant paper bottle that can be used in bathrooms. By using paper material, it can reduce plastic usage by more than 70% compared to conventional plastic packaging. The used paper bottle can be collected and recycled into toilet paper, just like milk packs. In addition, bathrooms become colorful, with its package design of floras and faunas such as birds, olives, and citrus fruits that live in the area where its raw materials are produced. It relaxes the body and mind.

The raw materials used in the body soap are palm oil, olive oil, and fragrances, all of which are manufactured in consideration of the environment and human rights. The palm oil comes from Colombia, where it is produced using a farming method that considers a natural circulation and no unfair labor practices. Olive oil is produced in Spain, where pesticide-free cultivation and plot-by-plot traceability are practiced.

A body soap without a pump for replacement is also available.
